Apple Inc. (Apple) is one of the biggest companies which offer a wide range of media devices, digital music players, mobile communication, personal computers, different computing products and other different software and applications. Apple Inc. sells all of its products all around the world through its online stores, retail stores and direct sales force. It also sells its products through third party including retailers, value added resellers and wholesalers. It's proper and organized operations are because of its strong management (Jason, 2009). Management plays a vital role in the success of any organization. In any organization, the aim of the management is to develop its people through HRM&D department. In this development line manager play a vital role in the implementing the human resource management practices at work. Line manager plays a role of the bridge between HRM and employees (Elliot, 2012).

Discussion

The term line manager refers to the manager to whom teams or individual employees directly report on a daily basis. Line manager has a higher level of management responsibilities of teams and employees. Line managers play an essential role in applying human resource and management practices at work. Line managers have a responsibility for shaping behaviour and attitude of the employees as they are the main source to deliver HRM practices at work. Line managers have the responsibility of converting and implementing the strategies of human resource and management into practice at official level. Line managers have crucial responsibility of processes as well as for the outcomes of the company. They have to justify their idea of creating economic value to the shareholders and to employees for changing working criteria as well. It is observed from various researches and surveys that, implementation of good HRM practices including employee involvement and participation can enhance the performance of employees at work. This implementation motivates employees in order to improve their performances which ultimately increase the performance of the organization (Armstrong, 2000).

Generally the responsibilities of line managers include people management on daily bases, managing operational costs, checking quality, and dealing with different clients, monitoring and observing work processes and evaluating operational performance. Line manager has the responsibility of managing resource on a day to day basis in order to get greater outcomes. They focus on the recruitment process as well as on the development of the employees in order to improve the performance of an organization.
