Purpose of Report

This paper focuses on the quality control measure of m&ms®, from a larger perspective, the purpose of our report is to examine the packaging process for plain 1.69 ounce bags of m&ms®. The main objective of m&ms® quality control check is to ensure that the product m&ms® correspond to the specific requirements and are reliable, satisfactory and financially sustainable.

Project Part 1:

Sampling Method

In this project we have taken the sample of m&ms® from three different stores, each bag has been selected randomly; we are assuring that we are obtaining a true random sample. A simple random sample is selected so that each sample should have equal probability of being selected from the population. For a simple random sample, each element in the population has an equal chance of being selected; the sampling plan may not lead to a simple random sample.

The table above shows the random sample, which we have selected from different store. It can be seen that each bag that is selected at random contains 61 beans; however, the number of colored beans in each bag is different. The sample shows that the number of brown beans in each bag is the lowest while the proportion of orange and blue beans in each bag is the highest.

Project Part 2:

Method, Analysis, Results

To do this part we would add each column of colors, and then find out the proportion of each color in 3 bags. In this part we will analyze the proportion of each colored bean in all 3 bags; the statistics show that blue beans were in the highest proportion in all 3 bags i.e. around 26%, while ...
