ABSTRACT

Traditionally, the focus of dentistry was on curing dental diseases with removal of contaminated tissues and restitution of the deficient part. The minimal intervention dentistry includes the process of preservation and treatment of the structure of tooth. This research paper has focused on the minimal intervention dentistry which facilitate dentist to take into consideration the growing restorative confrontation identified by elder patients. The data has been gathered through secondary sources and the previous searches carried out by several authors. The aim of carrying out this research work was to deliver knowledge which can be useful for the clinicians in treating with restoration of diseased part. The objective of the paper was to put knowledge into practice in order to perform risk assessment and progression which can augment the treatment process and execute the minimal intervention dentistry.

INTRODUCTION

Thesis Statement

Minimal Intervention Dentistry helps dentists in order to address the growing restorative challenges presented by older patients.

Aims and Objectives

The main aim of this research paper is:

To understand the concept of minimal intervention dentistry

To identify early diagnosis of caries infection

To classify the minimal intervention dentistry

Based on the above mentioned aims, the objective of this research paper is to clarify the concepts behind the minimal intervention dentistry in helping geriatrics for the treatment of elderly aged patients.

Research Methods

This research is based on the secondary data. The research encompasses the publications, articles and similar studies accessible on the internet. Keeping in view the approach taken in earlier studies the research began with a broad analysis of the existing literature. The critical analysis & conclusions are based on the secondary data. The methodology used for the purpose of this research is based on the secondary data. This research is more or less based on the literature review & the conclusions are drawn on the basis of actual resources listed in the references. The research approach used is qualitative. Quantitative and qualitative research methods are very different from each other because quantitative research is less subjective than qualitative research and includes several different criteria's for gathering information which can be primary and secondary, both. As already mentioned this study chooses the secondary method. Secondary data as a form of data that has been composed by others for an entirely unusual or little similar to the research problem is defined by Ghauri (2002). Ghauri also incorporated that some research questions can be responded only by secondary data but there are probable risks as those data were composed for a special function and can be prejudiced (Ghauri and Gronhaug 2002). Some dependable sources have been measured for the secondary information with that recommendation in mind. The relevant and updated data and literature was accessed and gathered through libraries from online databases. The online databases which were used for collecting information were: Pubmed, CINAHL, and Medline ...
