Case 1-Descriptive Analysis

Introduction

The given study is intended to observe the several variables that can explain the behavior of Ugandan citizens regarding HIV/AIDS. The sample comprises of thirteen different variables out of which ten are nominal, two are scaled, and one is ordinal. The sample contains several social and economic variables that can affect the occurrence of disease of HIV/AIDS in Ugandan women. The population of the data covers the social characteristics of Ugandan women such as their Religion, age at first marriage, has a regular sex partner other than spouse, their age at first sexual intercourse, listens to radio every week, watches TV every week, ways to avoid AIDS, and they Ever use of condom. Economical factor involved in the population of Uganda women is what type of residence they have. Samples of 1409 participants were used for participation in this research. The key variables that can fulfill the complete requirement of the study is the perception of chance of getting AIDS, age of Ugandan women, current marital status, use of condom, age at first sexual intercourse, and their knowledge of avoiding HIV/AIDS.

Study Objective

The general objective of the overall population is to analyze the trend of socioeconomic factors that can be considered responsible for initiating the disease HIV/AIDS in citizens of Uganda. However, the objective of descriptive analysis of give sample is to identify the characteristics and effect of significant variables among samples for HIV/AIDS in Uganda. Through various graphs and crosstabs we can observe the variability of every single variable (McMillan, 2009).

Study Questions

1-What is the perception of chances of getting AIDS in different age intervals?

2-What is the use of Condom among Ugandan women in different age intervals?

Descriptive Statistics

For 1st Question

The chart below can be considered as a full responsible answer for our states question. It can be seen from the chart below that the highest chance of getting AIDS among women of Uganda lie in the age interval 20-24. Similarly, we can observe the trend of every age interval using the cross tabulation chart below. It can also be seen through the table that the age interval 20-24 holds the highest quantity of in every category of chances of getting aids.
