Module 3 - Case

1. Determining whether or not the lines be perpendicular if they are graphed.

  3x  -  2y =    6

  2x  +  3y =    6

3x - 2y = 6

3x - 6 = 2y

y = (3x - 6)/2

2x + 3((3x - 6)/2) = 6

2x + 3(1.5x - 3) = 6

2x + 4.5x - 9 = 6

6.5x = 6 + 9

6.5x = 15

x = 2.30

Substituting x into other equation:

3(2.30) - 2y = 6

6.90 - 2y = 6

6.90 - 6 = 2y

2y = 0.90

y = 0.45
