Introduction

Since long time, a number of horror movies have been produced having a central theme of death. One of the greatest names in the history of movies world is of “Dead Man”, a movie that got its script written and directed by Jim Jarmusch in the year 1995. The theme of the story revolves around the thesis statement that William Blake, one of the major role of the movie after murdering a man met an Indian with a strange name of “Nobody” who made William realize the importance of preparation for the journey to the world hereafter.

William Blake in order to join a promised job of book seller travels from his home to a town where he was supposed to be associated with the company name Dickinson Metal Works. Blake was warned about the activities of the enterprise, but he still continued his journey. On reaching the place, he got to know that his position has already been filled by some other person. Blake was jobless and during that time he met Thel Russell who holds a position of a former prostitute. She takes Blake to her home. At the place the ex-boyfriend of Thel named Charlie arrived and got jealous to see Blake and Thel together. In an attempt to kill Blake, he accidently shot Thel. Blake got angry and killed Charlie. Charlie was the son of Dickinson. On hearing about the death of his son, Dickinson hired three men in order to kill Blake. Blake was already wounded, on getting some consciousness he found a large number of American Indians trying to take the bullet out of his chest.
