Critique on Abstract

Abstract is 850 words long and describing the aims, mission, methods, results and conclusion. Abstract have written in a good form in order to aware the things written in the article. Every abstract is written in a form to acknowledge the written materials and, this abstract is according to the mark and, no individual may find difficulty in understanding the material. Abstract is good in clearing my concepts regarding the topic. Abstract tells each and everything in easy wording and, I find the topic interesting at the first instance. The author acknowledged the possibility that the results were affected by sample size and lack of randomization by age group. Furthermore, analysis of the pain scale was made by an observer and not the anxiety patients, which may affect the validity of the assessment. The information available in the abstract was not long but, clearly identified what is in the article to acknowledge readers. There is no such thing missing in the abstract which can be pointed out for evaluation.

Abstract is identifying the effect of other factors such as; the use of sedatives, cardiovascular although not altered during the 30-minute experiment, may nonetheless have had some impact in the results, depending on when the drugs were used before the study.

Critique on Introduction

The article I have chosen for critique is Evaluating the effect of music on patient anxiety during minor plastic “The introduction aims to acknowledge readers about the affects of music on the anxiety patients during minor plastic surgery” by Roddy McLeod. This article will help me in understanding the concept of music as medicine for the mind. I am not able to find it's the most relevant article to critique and, few things are missing. It has been shown that music affects the physical, emotional, cognitive and social needs of individuals of all ages (Cruise et al, 1997, pp. 43-48). Author is remarkable in showing an introduction which is highlighting that music has beneficial effects on pain anxiety patients such as; alleviates preoperative anxiety in anxiety patients, acts on the autonomic nervous system, reducing the heart rate, blood pressure and pain after surgery, and has a positive effect on anxiety patients who suffered acute myocardial infarction. Introduction was detailed enough to tell that the music reduces anxiety and pain following heart surgery in anxiety patients. Introduction is helping me in understanding the music effects in detail. The primary framework suggested by Mitchell, 1997 helps me to understand that in a study of pain after abdominal surgery, the use of relaxation and music was effective in pain intensity. Introduction in the article is helping what is observed in the article and, what is to be researched? Introduction also emphasizes that ...
