Introduction

Tesco is the largest retail network in the UK and the third largest in the world, which is constantly expanding by opening new stores. Today Tesco net proceeds of about £ 3 billion. Tesco network consists of more than twenty two hundred stores, from large supermarkets to small trading centers like Tesco Express.

The original product line of Tesco previously consisted of groceries and general merchandise; today already include electronics, as well as banking and insurance. Tesco network attracts millions of customers with a web site and online trading. Jack Cohen, selling product from a tray in the East End of London, founded the business as in 1929 in London, opened the first supermarket Tesco. Today Tesco is the employer of 280 thousand employees in the UK and around the world for more than 460 thousand people (Palmer, 2005). Tesco staff performs a wide spectrum of functions:

Customer service supermarket and online shoppers;

Management departments, which employ a lot of rank and file;

Work in warehouses;

Work in the office (finance, human resources, marketing);

Logistics, planning, supply, and distribution of goods to the shops

Organizational Culture

The corporate culture is often associated with practices and behaviors intrinsic to the company that determine the shape and priorities with which things are done within it. There are also those who associate the message in the text of its mission, while economic and social responsibility as a company project. Proper corporate culture helps build its own identity and can prove to be a key in the success of organizations. Similar to such understanding Tesco in order to successfully expand its network, Tesco follows the rule to attract the right staff in the right place at the right time. Opening of new stores in new locations meant that Tesco staff must adapt to the different demands made by local consumers.

The core value for Tesco was to develop leadership in all areas of the network is a priority. Every tenth employee Tesco is involved in projects aimed at personal development, and one of the thirty participating in an optional program. Before you start training at the company, the employees analyze their current skills in order to identify gaps.

Every tenth employee Tesco is involved in projects aimed at the development of the private. All the problems are fixed in the Personal Development Plan. Tesco training programs enable all employees to develop the skills necessary to further build their careers.
