Aims of the Study

The aim of this research is to analyze the impact of organization's culture of the performance of employees. Organizational culture is made up of values, norms, vision and mission of the company, systems, symbols, language, beliefs and environment of the organization. It has been observed that the structure and environment of organization can have both positive and negative impact on employee's performance.

Rationale of the Study

The importance of having and implementing appropriate organization culture and strategies to maintain it has gained a great deal of significance in today's globalised world. Companies are increasingly being conscious for applying different strategies to maintain organization culture in order to have positive impact on employees and stakeholders. My interest in the subject stems from the fact that I have the knowledge gained during my studies. I am keen to understand the strategies and measures undertaken by organizations.

There is extensive information on the importance of, strategies and practices of organization culture in various books, electronic journals and the internet. However, care will be taken to use the most recent sources as the field of organization culture is subject to continuous change and numerous variations.

Literature Review

Introduction

Organizational culture is collective behavior of all the resources working in the organization and contributing their efforts for achieving the goals and objectives of the company. Organizational culture is made up of values, norms, vision and mission of the company, systems, symbols, language, beliefs and environment of the organization (Cameron, 1999). All these elements are taught to the new member of the organization so that new members can easily interact and coordinator with other members of the organization. It also helps them in understanding the goals and objectives of the organization and ways or working and achieving it. Organization culture effects the interaction and performance of the employees (Adkins 2004, p. 969).

It is also stated that organizational culture is a set of values which are shared by all the members of the organization. They shared same mental assumption and interpret the guidance in same way and take actions in the company which is define to them as appropriate behavior. Organizational culture and environment have huge impact on the performance of employees (Chatman & Jehn, 1994).
