Personal Statement

Purpose of applying for graduate study at UCSF

I chose University of California, San Francisco (UCSF) because it is one of the world's top most leading centers of health sciences research, education, and patient care. It is leading health sciences center which provides the best dentistry and nursing graduates in the world. It is ranked in the top ten hospitals of United States of America, for past several years, and its performance is consistent throughout these years. In year 2007, it was ranked seventh best hospital of the nation, which made it the highest ranked health care center in Northern California. It has collaborated with other leading universities such as University of Zimbabwe, which deals with HIV. This has increased its standard of quality education. This shows that it never compromise on quality, and provide the best education, and hence the graduates of UCSF are the best known graduates of the world. UCSF has increased its collaboration with other universities and health care centers, in order to make it productivity more appropriate. It not only has an association with different universities, it is also associated with several laboratories as it does research as well. Another reason for me choosing UCSF is that its mission statement is very appealing and realistic. Its mission statement, “public university dedicated to saving lives and improving health” is not only in the written form, but they also follow it firmly, which made them become a leading health care canter in United States of America.

The reason for me joining UCSF is that I want to work in a challenging and professional environment where there is exposure to new technologies and advance techniques are used. I want my skills to be tested and challenged so that I can prove my abilities and skills to everyone. I have ...
