Position Paper: Crow Planet: Essential Wisdom from the Urban Wilderness

Introduction

At present, the number of crows has increased more than ever in this world. The increase in their quantity offers both, an opportunity to research about the lifestyle of this creature and a concern of imbalance in ecology. Haupt in his book “Crow Planet: Essential Wisdom from the Urban Wilderness” has revealed the known fact before the people that they no longer require to go in suburbs and in woods to understand the nature. In fact, nature lovers should give adequate attention to their surroundings specifically crows. Unfortunately, very less attention has been given by scholars in particular zoologist and environmentalist on crows, which Haupt has highlighted in his book (Haupt, pp. 15-96). He reveals that people can also enhance their appreciation towards the nature of the world by giving adequate attention to this creature. The position that I will defend in this paper is that Haupt wrote a book that is part environmental and part memoir. This means that Haupt book provide some scholarly work regarding crows which can be counted in environmental factors. Whereas, his revelation of myths and his personal experience regarding crows makes his book part memoir.
