CHAPTER 01: INTRODUCTION

1.1 Background of the Study

Christianity is amongst the largest and the most important religion to currently exist around the Earth today. Followers and believers of Christianity and other monolithic religions are strong and firm believers in the previous existence and belief in Jesus Christ.

It must be understood and comprehended that Bible, as believed today and followed, although has changed the course of all verses and quotes, that were otherwise mentioned in the Bible, however, a still major portion of the belief lies strongly upon the development and understanding of believers and followers taking oath upon the existence, presence of Jesus Christ, even in the modern world today.

Unfortunately, due to lack of different means and modes of basic necessities, following religious norms and fulfilling the standards of religion becomes a much debatable concept and consideration of the research paving underway.

To fulfill the religious requirements and the duties which continue to make human beings live a question of much debate, which needs to be undertaken and addressed for weighing basic necessities and to make way for proceeding and executing religious duties which continue to make way for the purpose of fulfilling the duties and responsibilities imposed in the Holy Bible.

1.2 Statement of Problem

The statement of problem which shall help us tailor the study undertaken in the midst of research is 'Identifying the impact of access to basic resources on religious practices prevalent in Nigeria'.

1.3 Aim of Study

The research aim, which implies a broader picture to understand the overall gist of the research paving underway is what are the basic factors or reasons that otherwise influence the changes in the religious practices of Christians living in Nigeria, who are involved in executing and performing duties and responsibilities imposed and brought down upon them through the Holy Bible.

1.4 Scope of Study

The scope of the study revolves around how can Nigerian Christians be in a position to make way for performing religious duties, who continue to experience extreme poverty conditions and witness major hardships in order to fulfill the basic necessities that directly influence the execution and rightful duty and its compliance with the instructions given out through the Holy Bible.

1.5 Significance of Study

With the research study undertaken, it becomes much more evident regarding the prevalent practices, which help us identify the kind of issues and problems experienced by followers of Christianity, living in the state of Nigeria.
