Chapter 3: Method

Research Design

The research design followed in this study refers to the mixed methodology where quantitative and exploratory measures are adapted to analyze the data accumulated from the sample of the study. The quantitative research uses scientific methods to investigate phenomena and address issues and problems (Creswell, 2005). These methods utilize an objective manner that enhances the reliability of the knowledge and reduces biases Creswell (2005). The study would be consists of Quantitative research designed to determine if organizational culture has impact on the performance management system.

Pilot testing of the study will be carried out by collecting primary data with the help of questionnaire distributed to 45 students. Nonetheless, exploratory research methodology is adapted to accumulate secondary data gathered from diverse studies that have been conducted previously. The literature gathered from these research studies would be analyzed in order to facilitate the quantitative data analysis section of this research. The exploratory research will facilitate the hypothesis construction by validating the information on the basis of which these statements are developed.

Study Population

It is purposive sampling data that is to be conducted from local students.

Sampling strategy

For our research we will follow random sampling. The respondents are the students. In order to get the wide horizon we have not restricted the age factor or grade level in the sample size.

Sample size

A simple size of 45 students local is used for this study.

Data Collection Method

The respondents would be given with the questionnaire along with survey cover letter to explain the purpose of the research and the importance of their participation. It would also clear to them that there is no compensation for responding nor is there any known order to ensure that all information will remain confidential; including your name is optional.

Primary data would be collected through questionnaires survey. Questionnaires used in survey contain 17 and 28 questions, respectively.

Secondary data provide foundation and theoretical framework of our research it would be conducted through books review, online research journals, library journals and internet for literature review.

Informed consent

Informed consent is an important component of research and is an integral part of the research process (Creswell, 1998, Pp. 11). Researchers should educate their participants in order for them to make an informed decision regarding their participation in the research (Creswell, 2005, Pp. 27). Participants must provide informed consent freely and without force and with clear comprehension of what participation entails (Creswell 1998, Pp. 11). For the proposed study, the researcher will implement practical steps to ensure that all participants are educated about the proposed study in order to make an informed decision. Participation will be voluntary and individuals have the right to choose not to participate or to withdraw from either phase of the proposed study at any time.

Ethical consideration

The research is done with full awareness of researcher about ethical and moral issues which are involved in the research. The research is carried out in a manner that ...
