The notion of prioritizing projects revolves around the proper and efficient selection of the projects. The criteria to selection and management of the projects are based on different factors. The aim of the prioritizing process at D.D Williamson is to revolutionize or eradicate failed or incomplete projects. He faced many problems while the management process of such projects. But after some thought process he devised a system to manage these projects. The system at one hand help to solve the impending problem of prioritizing the projects, but it on the other hand gave rise to some problems (Kloppenborg, 2011). These issues were embedded in the strength and weakness of prioritizing the projects process. In business worlds, companies assess the projects by the standard of big budgeted projects and critical projects. I believe the strength of the prioritizing the project is the concept of management support of the project.

The prioritizing process at D.D Williamson allowed the management to pay much attention on the quality of the projects and they managed the project by understanding every detail of the projects. Another important advantage of this process is the criteria based on the resource utilization. The rating of the project was another distinguishing feature of prioritizing the process. The rating scale worked efficiently because it had a team of different people with separate skills. Each member of the team has distinguishing expertise and field skill and all of them every effort.

The ultimate aim of all these efforts was to enhance the corporate image of the D.D Williamson. But it is noteworthy that all the efforts could not analyze strategically the possible weaknesses, strength, opportunities and threat of each of the projects.

The prioritizing process of D.D Williamson helps manager to understand the nature of projects in terms of importance and a huge amount of budget. His prioritizing system though proved very helpful for the company, but there are some other important aspects of project management are lacking.

The most important aspect of the project is the future benefits that are intended to be derive from it. Some projects are very crucial for the survival of the organization and company take every pains to complete it while there are some project who are though required for the company to operate smoothly but are not that much important. For example, project which are aimed to increase the productivity are more important than those projects which is aimed for the renovation for the building. In other words, the strength and weakness as well as opportunities and threat are an important aspect for the evaluation of the projects (Cicmil et al., 2006).
