Introduction

Catholic Charities of the Diocese of Palm Beach is an organization which offers family services. It is a non-profit organization situated in Martin, Indian River Palm Beach and St. Lucie countries. Because of a number of needs of local community, the organization provides a huge range of programs including Guardianship Training, Counseling, Residential Programs, Wellness Program, Faith Community Nursing (IHWA), Immigration Legal Services, Elder Affairs, Resettlement & Refugee, Birth line/Lifeline Pregnancy Care Centers and Privacy Practices.

Every service has been emerged as the particular need of identified community and/or population has arisen. In its verity of locations of services, the organization of Catholic Charities has plenty of experience in offering comprehensive social services to the needy people. Their history of competency and effectiveness with the confidence required to continue designing verity of programs to address needs of community. Catholic Charities offers services on no-discriminatory basis to every eligible customer irrespective of his/her ethnicity and religion affiliation.

From a huge verity of services the 'Counseling' service of Catholic Charities is selected for program evaluation for this paper. Catholic Charities offers therapy for couples, children and adults and groups in six different locations. The therapy offered is effective for loneliness, loss and grief, depression, stressful interpersonal relationships, problems and concerns of adolescence and childhood and other related life stressors. Fees are provided depending on the services offered. Furthermore, counselors who can speak Spanish are available at different set ups. Normally, the needy clients are provided services at their location. However, the counseling services are not offered to alcoholics or drug abusers or physically violent people. Those individuals to whom Catholic Charities cannot serve are, mostly, referred to a more suitable resource.

Mission of Catholic Charities

Catholic Charities believe in creating hope for individual, regardless of their religion. They serve by offering services, in association with others in the field compassionate and just, also endowing people by means of education.

Theoretical Frame Work

The sociological term counseling is bordered by narrowing importance of what people in everyday language referred to as 'Advice', as well as of closely related phenomena from. Consultancy in the narrow sense is a form of interaction in which the knowledge is transferred. Consultants can therefore indeed modify the conditions for a successful transfer of knowledge, but they can over a large part of the success conditions neither have nor create the necessary conditions on the other side.
