Brief Background of Selected Company

With the emerging high speed technology all over the world Bangladesh has also come up to the line. Government owned company Teletalk first to launched 3G in 14th October 2012. Government decided to give 3G License to other telecom company in the early 2013 and BTRC (Bangladesh Telecommunication Regulatory Commission) called for an auction of 3G license in 7th September, 2013. Initially ROBI was confused to participate in 3G auction & to buy 3G License. To shine with the 3G growing world, Bangladesh had started its journey of 3G on 14 October, 2012 by Tele-talk, the government-owned telecom operator. About a year later, the number of subscribers has not been increased significantly as expected. Despite the availability of 3G services, basic mobile services are still the most popular services. Bangladesh held its first 3G spectrum auction in September, 2013 where four more telecom operators had been awarded 3G spectrum along with Teletalk.
