The development of the project “Centralized Learning Network” was a plan was to initiate a Centralized Learning Network (CLN) initiating from the corporate office in Dallas, TX expanding it later across the organization. The introduction of this project considered a significant move by Briargrove as an institution for training. This secure system designed to give access to local, countrywide and global new services. All the employees of the organization will use this service. At present, the Briargrove Project has efficiently completed multiple phases within the corporate offices. The objective of this paper is to explore the key stages of project monitoring and how that will be helpful for the ongoing project.

Project Monitoring

The monitoring of a project starts when a validated and clear strategy is there, which has approved already by the sponsor of the project and accepted by the team as well as the leader of the project. Other requisites for successful tracking of a project are a functioning information infrastructure, functioning methods of tracking, and complete project planning information presented to all stakeholders and team members (Kendrick, 2003).

The Status Cycle

The monitoring of a project depends on a 4-stage cycle which repeats periodically (normally weekly) all through the development of the project. Out of the 4 steps of project monitoring, inbound communication is the first stage, which involves collecting the information of project status (Kerzner, 2011). The 2nd stage of this cycle contrasts the situation of the project to the original plan this assess the metrics with the study of any variances. Furthermore, the 3rd stage take actions to any concerns or issues that detected. Finally, the 4th stage is outbound communication, this keeps people conscious of what has come about in the plan (Kendrick, 2003). The study has shown that the monitoring cycle gives the project leaders and team members with information desired to conduct planning and analysis for the continuing project.
