Answer # 1: The level of violence experienced by the preschoolers adversely affects their development. Many adults believe that young children do not understand violence and they are too young to know what is going on. However, children experience the loud noises more intensely that come with the violence. Children who are exposed to violence are found to exhibit the subsequent problem behaviors such as depression, delinquency, substance abuse and aggression. The community violence has become normal practice throughout United States. Community violence can be described as the delinquency and other violent events present in the immediate environment that may include school, and neighborhood. The children exposed to community violence display the behavioral as well as psychological problems. This violence also results in the increased fighting among young children. There is a direct relation with the exposure to violence and depression in children. The other problematic symptoms may include the anger, sleep problems, anxiety and fears.

The community violence has become an important social issue as it directly impacts the lives of young and preschool children. The children who witness the violence such as beating, fighting, shoving, stabbing and shooting display the internalized problems such as increased depression, anxiety and social withdrawal while the externalized problems are displayed in terms of aggression and disruptive behavior.

Answer # 2: There is a significant link between the parent child relationship and the children outcomes. I do agree with the statement that the parents who spend more time with children are found to have better children developmental outcomes. The employed parents experience several negative behaviors in their children as compared to non-employed parents. Parents' time spent on the child care has a great impact on children developmental outcomes. This impact can be constructive in two aspects such as the economic aspects where children become the social capital in terms of trustworthiness and the developmental aspects where children reflect negative and destructive behavior. The studies show that children developmental process has been adversely impacted since the number of employed mothers has risen over the last decade. The parents' lack of attention causes copious negative outcomes on the children development especially the employed mother has the most adverse impact both in socio economic terms and the cognitive development as the mothers' attention holds significant importance in better upbringing of a child. The mothers who spend most of their time in caring the children have more better child outcomes than that mothers who are engaged in other activities rather than caring the children. The mothers who spend their time away from home may affect the quality of home environment as well as quality care of children. While on the other hand the mothers who spend quality time at home result in more productive development of their children.
