Introduction

The main purpose of this paper is to make an analysis on the cultural analysis of Puerto Rico. According to the dictionary of the language of the Spanish Royal Academy, culture is a set of lifestyles and habits, knowledge and degree of artistic, scientific, industrial, in an age or social group. On the other hand, we have Maria Moliner who defines us as a whole culture of knowledge, degree of scientific and industrial development, social status, ideas, art, etc. Puerto Rico is located in United States. It is an unofficial territory of United States which is situated near the northeastern Caribbean. P ort Rico is a commonwealth of the United States, which effectively has come to mean today to be an American colony. Once past the cautious process with immigration agent, and you can go to San Juan, capital of the island, for which first have to go through the Teodoro Moscoso Bridge, where a blast of hot air and miles of U.S. and Puerto Rican flags you will welcome (Barnouw, 2003).

Discussion

The island of San Juan de Puerto Rico was discovered in 1493 by Christopher Columbus (Cristoforo Colombo) on his second voyage. Until then, the island was inhabited by the Taino Indians. According to some historians, the Taino believed that Columbus and his companions were "gods" allegedly due to skin color and the size of their boats. As a gesture of hospitality, the Tainos were presented with gifts of gold, and Columbus discovered the richness of the island. As indicated in the books of the time, the place where they built their port entoces, was named Puerto Rico.

Connection with Adler's cultural Theory

Culture is the unique set of distinctive customs, conduct demonstrations and mystical, religious, material, intellectual and others that characterize or identify familiar to a society or social group in a given period. Popultaion is found on earth in the dry regions, different norms, languages, and values identify them as a culture. It is a mixture of language, ethnicity, lifestyle, values, norms, greetings, etiquette and physical traits (Adler, 2007).

The significance of this period was called culture, which showed a widespread practice that govern these activities a way of life and from them emanate the regulations governing social group for one or more generations (Adler, 2003).

Development includes both according to Adler and after a lifetime of overcoming problems Havighurst, which gives the individual an active role in the design. Various development activities or development-specific variants of the tasks of life are at different stages in the development of an individual's relevant because of cultural demands (Adler, 2003). The masters of the tasks are best when the previous phase have been overcome. A systematization of developmental tasks is practically very important, because development can be promoted proactively and interceptive towards the management.
