Qualitative Analysis of an Article

The research topic and purpose

The topic of the research is “Empowering Educators through teacher research: promoting Qualitative inquiry amongK-12 Educators”. The study is intended to examine the program that was established to tie the principles of the qualitative research with the need of promoting use of technology amongst classroom teachers. This is analyzed to explore the effectiveness of the program in promoting technology use. The researcher has collected and analyzed a great deal of data for assessing the impact of the Digital Learning Collaborative (DLC) (Clarke, 2012).

2. The related literature presented in the article.

The related literature that is used in the study is also relevant. The researcher has used journals articles, and books to incorporate in this study. The topic ranges from education to the use of technology is educational system. The subjects studied for the research also include how teacher are benefited with the use of technology (Clarke, 2012). It has not only evaluated the studies which advocates the use of technology among teachers but also studies the limitations, barriers and problems in the implementation of technological process in education system.

3. The participant selection methodology.

Qualitative because this research aims understand the phenomenon of study in their usual environment so you can narrow your information, and is not intended to measure or decisions associated with. The researcher has chosen homogenous sampling method which is used when the aim of the study is to gain knowledge and describe a specific group or social phenomenon in depth. If a sample is homogeneous, researcher can, in the discussion of results identify a rich understanding for a given group of individuals (Reeves, et al. 2008). Owing to this fact, the researcher in this study has focused on investigating the experiences and the perceptions of the teachers as they went through the DLC program. The sampling method also has inclusion criteria, according to which participation in DLC program was necessary and all the 37 team leaders of the program were analyzed. Inclusion and exclusion criteria allow researchers narrow down their sample and also increase the authenticity of their research (Clarke, 2012).

4. The data gathering and analysis.

The data is gathered and analyzed with qualitative methods with that detailed out as the constructivist with the aim of recording the expediencies of respondents and analyzing their perceived effect of the program in respondents with the use of educational technology (Clarke, 2012). The method is quite appropriate for this kind of study. Indeed, in the qualitative methods, which characterizes the collection techniques is essentially the involvement of the researcher in the use of technology it uses (Reeves, et al. 2008). This technique is an extension of itself; the researcher is part stakeholder of the instrument (the survey interviews and observations). The intellectually active researcher in the use of instruments collection it uses. These instruments put in direct contact with the object study that constructed by successive keys. Moreover, it must constantly think and act to guide his quest ...
