Introduction

Radon is referred as a chemical element having symbolic representation of Rn. According to the periodic table, it has an atomic number 86. It is a tasteless, odorless, colorless and radioactive noble gas. The researches show that radon naturally occurs by the indirect decay of thorium and uranium. Chemical properties of radon demonstrate that radon is the most stable and steady isotope having a half life of 3.8 days. It is often observed that, radon continues its gaseous state under the normal conditions. That is why it is referred as the densest substance of the periodic table. According to the recent researches, radon is the only gas which has radioactive isotopes. That is why, this gas is considered as the biggest hazard for human health as, it is a highly radioactive material (Harrison, et.al., 2010).

Recent researches and surveys show that it is the most hazardous gas for human health. It may cause several health issues and may lead a person to severe circumstances. It is often observed that, radon is usually used for the treatment of several diseases. Therefore, the absence of appropriate and effective protective measures may cause severe circumstances to the patient as well as, the people in his or her surroundings. On the other hand, effective and appropriate protective measures may help the people in avoiding several issues (McKenzie, et.al., 2005).

It is often observed that, radon is one of the hazardous gases that may cause severe health circumstances. It is because of the reason that, radon is responsible for the vast exposure of people to the ionizing radiation. These ionizing radiations may cause several health issues including cancer and lungs diseases. It is often observed that, radon is naturally found in building specifically in the confined areas including basements and attics. Radon can also be found in several hot springs and spring waters (Harrison, et.al., 2010).
