ISSUE 1: IMMIGRATION

Immigration Problem in the United States

The immigrants in USA have ignited the macroeconomic growth of the country, which is both unsurprising and uncontroversial because as economics indicates that more total output is yield by more total workers. Similarly, the immigrants also gets many benefits from working in United States, otherwise just few would have come here. An economic research of America indicates that immigrants not only support fueling up the economic growth of the nation, but they also have an overall positive impact on the native born workers income. United States immigration policy is influenced by a number of factors that hinder the development of effective policy making in this area. Such factors include the impact of volatile public mood, lack of understanding of social and economic nature of immigration, the indigenous population of the country at the expense of visiting foreigners (natives), and various narrow political considerations. Furthermore, in American society there is a belief that the United States take too many immigrants from Asia and Latin America. All of this clearly demonstrates that the concern of the population is likely illegal, rather than legal immigration.

It is fact that nine out of ten respondents believe that the U.S. should strengthen the protection of its borders. The researchers have established a link between the attitude of society towards immigration and the economic situation in the country. Such researches noted that the ratio of immigrants is partly driven by the state of the macro economy and is significantly complicated by the worsening of job prospects (Jacobson, Pp.147-154).

The problem of immigration in the United States, both legal and illegal, is extremely complex. Experts are of the opinion that the relatively good condition of the U.S. economy at present allows it to attract more foreign workers, regardless of the opinions of those who are afraid of losing their jobs to immigrants or believes that immigrants take away their benefits. Indeed, business people require new governmental programs to replenish the labor market. Mexican workers are granted temporary work permits in the U.S. service sector. They are needed in the hospitality industry, in agriculture, in the service of prisons. We can say that in times of economic stability, a more radical policy address issues related to immigration (Gleason, Pp.132-141).
