Introduction

The number of suicidal attacks against US is increasing day by day which imposes a serious threat for maintenance of peace across the world. Researchers and psychologists are still working on findings the motives of bombers behind suicidal activities. This paper also evaluates the intentions of suicide bombers that are utilized by the terrorist agencies for involving them in such activities.

Discussion

Terrorist agencies carefully carry out their recruitment activities as this is done at extreme secret levels. In this regard, many ideologies of terrorists are discussed in this paper which motivates them to take part in such activities. The development of feelings that motivate any individual to get involved in terrorism is a four stage process (Schbley, 2003). During these stages, the extremist beliefs of the individual get stronger. In the first stage, the individual starts believing that current state of affairs is undesirable. During the second stage, he perceives it as unjust. In third stage, he starts blaming the policies or nation for injustice. In last stage, he transfers the blame to the responsible party in order to justify his aggressive feelings. As the four stages pass, the individual considers himself as the victim of injustice rather than regarding himself as evil or bad. Terrorists use this psychological state of individuals to attract them in terrorism activities.

Other than the self developed feeling of injustice, terrorist organizations also use religious ideology to recruit individuals. The individual is made to believe that such activities are a mission and god has sent them for completing this mission. Thus, the individual is attracting to carry out suicidal bombing if he wishes to achieve heavenly rewards in the life hereafter.
