Introduction

In the present world, there is an evident global interest in the religion and the wide background of religiosity within which the religion operates. As a result, this reemergence in the religiosity is inspiring the renewed interest in this field among scholars and politicians. The religion has been stubbornly asserting itself into dominating discourse that is demonstrated by several world changing events. There have been an increasing number of conflicts arising on the basis of religious beliefs in the whole world. The impacts of religious beliefs been affecting culture, personal and spiritual questioning that has been persisted despite of emerging secularized culture (Lewis, 2009). This paper discusses the religious beliefs of the religion based on Science. Moreover this paper discusses the imaginative elements of it that would cause people to respond favorably today. This paper also discusses the aspects of contemporary culture that need transformation and how scientology accomplishes it. Furthermore, this paper will discuss the rituals and ethical principles that are celebrated by Scientology.

Discussion

It is believed that religion is when a person stands in front of an icon and praying. Or he leans his forehead to the floor and at the same time says something. However, this is a very limited view of religion. In fact, religion implies two things: first, the belief in evil, pain, confusion and injustice. They really exist at all levels of life, and secondly, the presence of specific activities and related sacred beliefs that express the belief that a person can be finally rid of these phenomena. In other words, if you believe that evil, pain, confusion, etc. really have a place in life, and the person practices some specific activities to finally get rid of that (Gallagher & Ashcraft, 2006).

The religion of Scientology

Scientific and technical progress of the last hundred years has provided people a material comfort than that of our ancestors. The scientific development governs the lives of people. However, with a better understanding of themselves and their fellows, they would be able to improve their living conditions and thus be happier. This is the goal of Scientology that enables humans to improve their lives by understanding. Scientology gives a clear and effective way to improve the awareness, which brings people out of the quagmire of everyday life and leads them to the joy of true spiritual freedom (Espín & Nickoloff, 2007).

Religious Beliefs

In this religion, it is believed that this world is run on the basis of Science. Everything that happens is due to science. A distinctive feature of Scientology is that of its members are not required rejection of other religious beliefs and membership in making Scientology. From this particular one can conclude that Scientology is satisfied with the status of incremental or additional set of beliefs and practices. In Scientology, although exclusivity is not required, it comes in the course of practice.
