The Renaissance was a cultural movement of the XV and XVI, which began in Italy and spread throughout Europe, which ended up giving name extension to a period of Western civilization characterized by a return to classical antiquity as a reaction against medieval theological mentality(Trivellato, pp. 127-155). The discovery of America was a significant event in the economic life of the Renaissance and opened new markets(Robin, p. 106).
