Abstract

This research proposal aims at taking up the significant issue of juvenile delinquencies associated due to mental health issues. The proposal also discusses the relevant theories regarding the issue, and the proposed research methods, as well as the possible limitations the research may face. It also takes into account the various aspects that are involved in the juvenile delinquencies.

Introduction

Humans are perhaps the most complex creatures that inhabit the earth. The fact that they are the most intelligent being, is both a positive and a negative point. Positive consequences of their brilliant intelligence, is what can be observed in the form of the various wonders they laid bare due to scientific inventions. However, since they possess astounding intelligence, the negativities they commit are but also equally complex to comprehend(Who.int, 2013).Therefore, the field of psychology is unfathomable ocean of vast dynamics. Human behaviours, actions and reactions then need to be comprehended with as much compliance to human psychology as possible.

Problem Statement

The most prime time in the life of a human is the youth or juvenile period. What are the factors behind the juvenile delinquencies that force them to exert their energies in such a negative manner? If the same powerful energies are accurately comprehended, not only will the juvenile crimes decrease but also these energies can be converted into a positive force. If the energies in this period can be channelized in the right direction, it would serve a purpose favorable not only for an individual but for the entire society. Therefore, the purpose of the study is to investigate the mental health factors that causes co-gender juvenile to go behind bars for committing violent and non-violent crimes.
