Introduction

In this study, we try to explore the concept of mobile banking security in an extensive manner. The main focus of the research is on mobile banking security and its relation with consumers' perception. This led to development of research questions, which states that do mobile banking services enhance or pose dangers to primary banking services? The scope of the study is not limited to exploring the importance of mobile banking in enhancing the one's life standard (Namho & Soon, 2009). It basically examines the implication of mobile banking advancement due to technology adoption on current banking system performance.

Today, banks are facing greater competition from existing competitors within the industry and from the entry of new players. Customers' habits are changing; they aim at learning new skills because of mobile banking emergence (Lin, 2011). It has turned out to be a foremost challenge for banks as well. Discourses surrounding mobile banking emphasize on enabling of flexibility and publicity of interaction (Chung & Kwon, 2009). Banks must use mobile as a supplementary distribution channel and they must keep their traditional distribution channel of phone and branch banking active (Lin, 2011).

Research Hypotheses

H10: Consumer knowledge and income level significantly affect the acceptance of mobile banking

H1a: Consumer knowledge and income level significantly affect the acceptance of mobile banking

H20: There is no significant difference in the adoption rate of mobile banking in men and women

H2a: There is a significant difference in the adoption rate of mobile banking in men and women

Research Aims and Objectives

This research aims at investigating the factors, which are influencing the adoption of mobile banking in U.S. It also explains about the effects of such adoption on traditional banking. Objectives of the research are presented below.

To examine the impact of mobile banking in providing support to current banking system growth

To assess the adoption rate of mobile banking

What factors enhance the acceptance of mobile banking over traditional banking system?

Does consumer knowledge and income level affect the acceptance of mobile banking?

Participants and Research Method

Cross-sectional research design has been selected for the research. Research conducted in the past did not explore the impact of emerging mobile banking concept on the customer perception and adoption. However, past researches presented valuable insight about the potential threats to mobile banking. Therefore, both secondary and primary research methods have been used for the data.
