Introduction

Teaching is indeed a very responsible activity and when it becomes a profession for some, it tends to include accountability as well. However, there are several aspects that a teacher has to keep and make sure to give her best. This paper aims to reflect on the teaching profession while taking the limitations into account at the same time. According to Haynes & Cho (2013, pp. 27-43), expanding comprehension skills of the students is a challenging task that not only involves addressing individuality but a teacher has to make way through the prevailing diversity and attain the set target of expansion of comprehension skills of the students.

Subject

The subject needs to be taught according to the standards and requirements of comprehensive verbal and non verbal English language. As an English language teacher, my topic is based on improving comprehension skills of the students which includes a variety of exercises; verbal and non-verbal. There are diverse ranges of students that are enrolled in the class that implies the fact that each student has come from variant background and possess different understanding level.

My Role as a Teacher

I have to gauge the understanding level of my students and reach up to their level in order to improve them to reach the set level. I have to make them explore all four basic skills like learning, speaking, reading and writing. My most important role in performing my teaching role is to involve the students in class room discussions as much as possible. Involving the students would go a long way in successfully enhancing the learning of students.
