Sparkle is a 1976 American musical theatre which was released by the Warner Bros and directed by Sam O'Steen. The film was inspired by the band 'The Supremes' which was an American female singing group which is by far, to date, one of the America's most successful vocal groups. Sparkle was set in Harlem, N Y during the early 1960s and late 1950s and is a period film. The film follows the rough careers and lives of the famous singer Sparkle Williams with her friends and her family.
