Executive Summary

In this study we try to explore the concept of rising gas prices in a holistic context. The main focus of the research is on price of gas and steps that government should take in order to control the gas price and its relation with people from low income groups. The research also analyzes many aspects of increasing gas prices and tries to gauge its effect on low income groups. Finally the research describes various measures that government should manage and to have power over controlling the increasing gas prices.

Introduction

The study is related to the increasing the gas prices which has been taking place over the past year. The increasing gas prices will affect almost all individuals of the society, as it is one of the key sources in energy production. Moreover, through this recently price increase will mostly affect to the people of lower income groups, as their source of income is limited, but they have to fulfill their needs with in their limited income. In addition, it is the responsibility of federal government to consider this critical issue as the as the inflation in the gas prices is adversely affecting the people.

Discussion

The gas continues to grow and the economy continues in crisis, it could only get worse. In the past, costs of commuting have not had too much of an impact on whether or not a person have a job, especially if they were making 6 figures. All that is changing though, as even the highest paid workers are refusing to take jobs with a long commute.

The price of natural gas is increasingly clear with the release of the gas market in many countries. It is traditionally a long-term market, but gradually a free market for gas appears (schematic), which generates large price changes at short notice (schematic yet). The gas company will release more and more sales in the long term, what makes the price of natural gas far more volatile. One of the major facts that are viewed regularly is how the price of gas is accelerating day by day. Talking of Ethanol and its consumption, plus seeing it as an emerging fuel, studies show the demand of it to rise (Hooker, 2010).

In addition to this, the purchasing power is an important factor as the people of lower income groups have to consume gas within their limited sources of income. The mere fact that the rich are getting richer and the poor becoming poorer is true to a certain point where the purchasing power of the people has increased that the negligence of even noticing the price rise is prominent (Campbell, 2011). The point of seeing that the people will however buy it no matter what, is one of the main causes here.
