Introduction

United States is a land of Mixed cultures, ideologies and Beliefs. Due to this particular reason the education system in the public sector is also formulated in a way to address the issue. A continuous debate has been observed since several years about how public schools can teach about the beginning and progress of human organisms. Educating children in public schools about the varied scientific theories about evolution by not challenging the general religious beliefs is a real difficult task. Though a progression of federal court judgments has supported the appropriate place of organic evolution in the national curriculum; the struggle over evolution in the syllabus persists (Sherrer, N, A. n.d). Current arguments over the “content of science education values” in US have come up specifically because evolution was honored its suitable position as the basic academic construct supporting the contemporary natural sciences. In this paper, we aim to discuss the importance of teaching the evolution process in public schools so as to understand the process and make it helpful for the children to grow up in a scientifically knowledgeable environment.

Thesis Statement

Evolution should be taught in public Schools so as to aware the children about the scientific importance the subject holds. It is significantly important and helpful for the students as it enables them to develop a better understanding of life and to think critically. This will be done by providing a counter argument to strengthen the argument.

Discussion

Evolution is scientifically meticulous theory that deals with the development of all organisms. According to the premise, all the life forms evolved with the passage of time by acquiring certain traits so as to continue their existence maximally. The biological evolution education in Public Schools has been a debatable subject since the beginning of the twentieth century which continues till date (Petto, J, A. 2008).

It will not be incorrect to say that Evolution is not just a theory of a hypothesis, In fact, it is a belief. A scientific hypothesis can be experienced or tested somehow to evaluate its authenticity, but the process of evolution cannot be tested in a lab. Nor any experiment can confirm its truth or facts in fact it can only be observed over the passage of time that requires countless years so as to achieve noteworthy outcomes.

Since life is drawn from life only, there is nothing new under the sun. In the past decade, the academic community has commendably increased its activities concerning the education, of evolution (Petto, ...
