Introduction

Smokeless tobacco includes chewing tobacco, snuff, plug, twist, snug and dissolvable tobacco products. However, it causes local lesions, oral and nasal pharyngeal (gingivitis, periodontal disease, cancer).

Effects of Smokeless Tobacco on Health

Many body and organs systems are affected by smokeless tobacco; the path physiological consequences are innumerable and are terribly dangerous.

A) Cardio-vascular

Tobacco is usually the cause of many diseases which includes strokes, blood vessel diseases and heart diseases.

• Ischemic Heart Disease (CHD)

Half of the cardiovascular problems are caused by smoking, which may also lead to death. Smoking has increased the rate of heart attacks and also causes sudden death due to cardiac problems.

• Other Cardiovascular Diseases

Smokeless tobacco leads to pharynx, oral cavity, esophagus cancer, larynx, and the establishment of a causal relationship for many years. Smokeless tobacco can also lead to oral cancer.
