Introduction

Socio psychology deals with the study of environmental influence on the behavior (Sanderson,2009). This involves using scientific research methods to understand the social and psychological influence of environment and different situations on the individual behavior. This study also assists in identification of the influence of the one individual on another (Sanderson,2009). These studies also provide opportunity to analyze differences in the psychological effect in real and experimental situations. This method is different from the observation in the real situations in this study there is a different system for the analysis of individual in experimental environment such as Zimbardo's Stanford Prison Experiment, Milgram's Obedience Study, and Asch's Conformity Study. These studies are based on the identification of social and psychological effect in particular situations. Socio psychological study was considered important especially after the effect of Holocaust (Newman, & Erber, 2002). This event and its effect attracted attention of psychologists and researchers to identify the psychological and social patterns which affect individual such as Nazi forces and prisoners.

Discussion

One of the main significance of socio psychological study is that it allows researchers to identify effects of different events of the history, which affect the behavior of individuals (Sanderson,2009). The events like Holocaust, My Lai Massacre, Heaven's Gate Cult and event of Jonestown are some of the major historical events, which affect human mind and behavior in most unusual ways.

There are various implications of the social and psychological factors, which assists in identification of the socio-psychological influence, and designing methodologies and interventions for these psychological problems (Sanderson,2009). Experiments conducted by different researchers and psychologists also provide guidance to understand the changes in the behavior. Effects of violent and horrific acts are also identified with environmental experiments.
