SPEECH

Speech

Introduction

The vernacular speech is one that is mainly or focused for a group or community. The region identifies and understands the language well as it embedded in that community. A speech that is vernacular means it uses words, a style or way of speaking (Coupland pp11- 21). The main idea of making a speech vernacular is so making the people familiar with the words and, therefore; they feel themselves as part of speech. In political speeches discussing the same issues, problems and even the same hopes in a common language make the people come together in a strong bonding. Through this, it makes the relationship stronger and more authentic. This therefore, shows strong social bonding as people set standards while giving a political speech (Brachin, Pp 25-60.).

Here, I have taken the speech of HRH Prince Charles. Here, his speech will define the vernacular aspects. Since Prince Charles, here was focusing on the aspect of making the United Kingdom a better place to live for the people. The speech comprised on the problems faced by the United Kingdom citizens as the reduction in the natural resources. Here, the prince clearly focused on the common problems regardless stating the differences but putting the country as a whole. Vernacular language is not only understandable to a group, but vernacular is the native language of a population, as divergent to a verbal communication of wider communiqué that is not local to the inhabitants, such as a nationalized language or lingua franca (Champneys and Arthur Charles pp 15-28).

Prince Charles Speech

The speech relates to vernacular language because it focuses on a set or group of people facing the same problem and understanding the same issues and language. The endangerment of people in the United Kingdom makes clear that the speech encompassed to a region were the citizens are facing the same problems as every other person.

As per this case the highlighted part here is the common speech relating to the common hope and concerns of the people all around United Kingdom. Vernacular speech means a language of the common community or a group of people and is understandable to all of them. Even in this case the main focus is the on the people of the United Kingdom and there clarifying all their doubts. Regardless of the cast, colour, creed and even the origin Prince Charles is focusing on the citizens as a whole.

The speech is purely vernacular as it clears all the controversies against all those who state to be different even living in the same country. Prince Charles here made it a point that despite the fact that people have no resemblance with one another even then they have common hopes and tend to move ahead in the same direction although they are not coming from the same place.
