Chapter Nine

Problem 1

Ho: UFO is less than 1 in every one thousand

HA: UFO is greater than or equal to 1 in every one thousand

Problem 2

HO: u >= 18.4

HA: u < 18.4

Problem 3

It is required to find the significance level of significance. Moreover, the null hypothesis will be rejected at p-value less than 0.05.

Problem 4

If P = .05 in a two-tailed test, the right tail percentile is 2.5% to reject the null hypothesis

Problem 5

Type I error takes place occurs when there is no association between the variables, though random sampling can indicate difference in statistical significance for association. Thus, the two groups are associated is an error. Besides it, the Type II error takes place when there is an association, though random sampling may not indicate difference in statistical significance for association between the variables. For that reason, the two groups are not associated is an error.

From the above table, it can be observed that the mean value of the variable that is emotional responses to classical music is 8.75 with total number of 20 respondents. Moreover, the deviation from the mean value is 4.7.

From the above one sample test, it can be stated that the mean value of emotional responses to classical music lie under the confidence interval as the mean value is 8.75 and level of significance is 0.816. In view of this, it can be said that the null hypothesis of the study is accepted.

Hypothesis

H0: µ emotional responses to classical music = 9

H1: µ emotional responses to classical music > 9

Results

The null hypothesis of the study is accepted.
