Introduction

This assignment is based on Stormwater Harvesting. Stormwater can be collected and reused water manually or using sophisticated automated systems. Currently, there is a large supply of these systems in various countries, we must think of creative ways to use the water as possible. Stormwater and rainwater is a valuable resource that can be harnessed for use in the home. The opportunities to capture rainwater vary, depending on where we live and rainfall patterns in the area. Rain water is a free resource and easy to maintain. Physical and chemical properties of stormwater are generally higher than those with underground water sources which are harder because of minerals found in the subsurface (Ferguson, 1998).

Rainwater is pure theory; however falling slips through dragging surfaces contaminants can be toxic. The management of urban stormwater corresponding to the collection, transport, storage and treatment is a public administrative service under, which may establish an annual fee for the management of urban stormwater. This service is designated under the name of public service management of urban stormwater. The fee for the management of urban stormwater is caused by public or private owners of land and roads located in an urban area or in a development area open to urbanization because of their classification by a local plan or a planning document in lieu thereof, or a buildable area bounded by a municipal board (Levario, 2007).

Advantage of Stormwater Harvesting

In modern systems, stormwater treatment is growing importance as it is attributed to the ecological and economic management of water resources. The preservation of groundwater reserves also focuses on the relief piping in order to effectively prevent the risk of flooding. Economic considerations and the new law on water management are all incentives to rethink stormwater treatment. There is no general obligation to collect or stormwater. It is an ancient technique that is regaining popularity now that more and more people are looking for ways to use water resources more intelligently. Stormwater is an easy and sensible way to get water for human consumption and for agricultural use. It can help households to be self sufficient in areas where there is no connection to municipal networks and thus help save the vital liquid and reduce the demand of water by the public (Philp, 2008).

The usage of stormwater in urban areas reduces the need to build new dams, it protects the rivers flow as it reduces the need to extract natural water source during the rainy season. Similarly, it reduces operating and maintenance costs of municipal networks. Today, many rural areas depend on stormwater harvesting, but urban areas are served by municipal services tend to forget this resource (Charlesworth, 2003).

The rainwater harvesting is a very important solution to the big cities where you're spending more water than is available.
