Stroke

A stroke is when the blood flow to the brain becomes limited or is interrupted it cuts off the supply of nutrients and oxygen from the brain tissues. After a stroke, the brain cells starts dying.

Types of Stroke

There are two different types of stroke.

Ischemic Stroke: majority of the strokes (about 85%) are ischemic. In ischemic stroke, the blood flow to the brain is blocked due to blood clots or plaque (fatty deposits) in the linings of the blood vessels (cdc.gov).
