Chapter 11 - Summary

One of the final steps in planning for instruction includes the selection of instructional strategies. There are five basic sources mentioned in the chapter: objectives, subject matter, student, community and teachers. Objectives refer to the learning objectives, whereas the subject matter requires emphasis on core concepts required by students. Also, the teacher must be acquainted with the intellectual capacities of each of their students to deliver accordingly. The teacher must also understand the values and norms of the community in order to conform to them. The teacher must also adapt and develop himself within the learning process.
