ABSTRACT

Military Environment must understand the importance of competing priorities and the role of logistics and support required for military. The changes in the current system of Military environment requires to regeneration of Aircrafts and their process improvement. This purpose of dissertation provides the regeneration of aircrafts by implementing Lean. It will highlight the concepts and approaches for implementation of lean. The successful implementation of a lean manufacturing program requires the engagement of company leadership to ensure lean doesn't become the company's latest "flavor of the month" program. In conclusion, many companies are making great efforts to implement Lean, but do not achieve the spectacular results although applying one by one, the tools of the model.

Chapter 1: Introduction

Background of the Study

Military Environment must understand the importance of competing priorities and the role of logistics and support required for military. Therefore, military leaders must understand the system based on the readiness of change. This change includes the improvement of the available aircraft for the competition. The strategic plan should completely state the time lags in communication, simultaneous deployments and information flows which are taking place simultaneously (Cutchergershenfeld, Nitta, Belhedi, 1994, p. 42). The military plan should provide a future for the military as it wants to be. It requires shared vision of the Military leaders and soldiers. It must capture the goals and objectives of Army and how they can be achieved with time. Recently, the military environment is focused on understanding and implementing the principles of Lean. For competing in the military environment it is necessary that the military aircrafts should be well maintained and they should be effectively managed. Lean technique is used of r the business improvement as in this dissertation we are discussing the Regeneration of Aircraft by implementation of lean. Although these principles are used both in military as well as public sector as managerial concepts but they unite with living by and surviving through the Defence Department (Berggren, 2003, p. 163).

Significance of the Study

The changes in the current system of Military environment requires to regeneration of Aircrafts and their process improvement. Lean tool helps in determining the business needs and the tools used in business transformation for meeting the future needs. It also helps in determining the changes which the current system requires.
