Introduction

The images that this paper attempts to analyze and explore belonged to Renaissance that depicted the Life of Jesus Christ. The crucifixion is indeed a great debate in terms of feelings, emotions and religious grounds. The art has immense role in materializing the intensity of life of Jesus and crucifixion. The people today can establish feelings and relevance with the religion, besides it is an effective manner of connecting the people with God. There are three images that are showing the Jesus on the cross and the people around him. They are trying to create an ambience to give the circumstances and mindset to the ones who are watching them. It is giving an impact of both 'light' and 'darkness', that is, Jesus let himself be sacrificed to save his people. Such kind of painting earned great amount of popularity in the time period of Renaissance, where there were painters who adopted this style of depiction as well as the people who could understand this sort of art.
