Introduction

In the recent past, technology has evolved at a very rapid pace. Every day, technologists are coming up with modern and sophisticated inventions that reflect the extent to which technology has evolved. All the walks of life have felt the effect of the evolution of science and technology. Technology has changed the scenario of the modern day. In the past, tasks that were considered next to impossible to be performed have now become a daily practice. All the domains of daily life have experienced immense due to such rapid technological advancement. Same is the case with the society in general, and society in America in particular.

Technology has impacted the modern day society to a great extent. Nowadays, one can find a number of technological products and inventions being used commonly in the American society. It is said that the evolution of science and technology has influenced the mankind in a positive way; however, there have been a number of negative effects on the society due to this (Lone Star College, n.d.). The fast changing world of technology has made life very much busy in the American society. In this paper, the effects of technology on the American society would be discussed.

As mentioned above, technology has had an immense impact on the American society. The lifestyle of American people has changed significantly since the advent of technology. The introduction of information technology has brought about revolutionary changes in the society. Modern communication technologies such as internet and mobile phones have virtually eliminated the distances. Intense use of technological products such as computers has become widespread. Today, offices are on the course of converting to paperless, with all the tasks to be performed and all the information to be stored on computers.

Information sharing has become a simple task than it used to be ever before. Online libraries have made it possible for the American people to access information from any place through internet connectivity. In the past, American people used to go to markets for shopping. Now it is possible for them to order the required items online from the convenience of their homes and it is delivered to their doorsteps. Invention of tablet PCs and smartphones have changed the paradigm of technology. These devices are small enough to be carried along.
