Teenage Pregnancy

Teenage pregnancy is an unplanned pregnancy in adolescence. Each year around 750,000 of 15-19 year old teens becomes pregnant (The American College of Obstetricians and Gynaecologists).

1. Measurable: What is appropriate.

The appropriate way of getting pregnant in teenage will be to become stable financially. You must have a stable place of living, and stable income source. You should be in emotionally helpful and healthy relationship- preferably a couple who is together for around 2 years. You must be mature emotionally and should be able to deal with your own bad temper, because it is hard to have a baby. You should be ready to allow things such as night life; you should be prepared to be reliable. If you are having love for your upcoming kids, then you can be patient and ensure that you are really ready to handle physical, social, financial and emotional problems which the child will bring. And keep in mind that you are not at all in competition with other individuals. Because someone has done it a very young age, that is not evidence that it turn out to be a great thing for you as well. When you are ultimately stable in everything, financially, socially, physically, etc, then it is the best way to get pregnant. But teenage pregnancy is not at all acceptable. Teenage pregnancy is not appropriate.

2. Abstract: What is the reason?

The causes of teenage pregnancy are as follows:

Absence of parents:

Teen girls have more chance of becoming pregnant if they have restricted or no instruction from their parents. Majority of the parents are having busy lives which prevents them from giving support and guidance that their children want to make better decisions on problems like sex. When teens feel that he/she cannot talk to their parents regarding sex because they are either not around or forbid sex conversation, they have more chance to turn to their friends for guidance on having sex or not, that leads to teen pregnancy.

Peer pressure:

Teens usually feel pressure during adolescence of making friends. On many occasions, these teens allow their friends effect their decision of having sex when they are not able to get the results linked with act. Teens have sex in order to look sophisticated and cool, but in different cases the result is unintended teenage pregnancy. It has been said by the Kiaser Family Foundation that above twenty-nine percent teens said that they were feeling pressure to have sex.

Pregnancy's glamorization:

The media and movie industry have contributed a lot to the teenage pregnancy due to glamorization of teenage pregnancy in movies and news stories. According to ABC's Good Morning America, movies which portray teenage pregnancy as a thing to be wished induce teens to involve in the wild sexual acts. At the time of adolescence, teenagers get more conscious regarding their looks and how their peers see them.
