The main objective of the topic is to examine the effect of Steve Jobs' and impact on Apple's market strategy.

1.2 Business Case of Apple Corporation

There were many analysts and commentators who had a belief that the death of Steve Jobs would mark the end of Apple Company but they all proved to be wrong. In the year when he died, the Cupertino based technology business earned a lot of success in that particular time. The company not only became the biggest public company in the world but achieved a tremendous success in their work. Apple did quite well in the Stock Markets when Steve Job was alive but their performance experienced a negative trend after the Steve Job's death. The company's two biggest rivals Google and Samsung have also put up fierce performance in their respective field. Google is exerting up a lot of effort in controlling the market of the world's mobile phones by making Android operating system freely available. This development has helped Google in boosting up their financial performance in the stock markets. On the other hand, the Korean mobile business, managed to increase its market capitalization by a major jump. However, these companies are still struggling to compete with the Apple because of their strong Smartphone's collection. The Apple Company needs to define their business strategy in a proper way in order to make a strong comeback in the future to revive their operations (Eicher & Cecilia, 2008, 258).

The aim of the study is to assess the difference in the performance of Apple Company before and afters' Steve Jobs death?

1.4 Research Justification

There is a justification for the current research. The reason is that it is important to assess the performance of Apple Corporation before and after the death of Steve Job. There was a major threat for the Apple Corporation that their performance might deteriorate rapidly because of the loss of their leader. Steve Jobs provided an overall direction to the company and he laid the foundation of the company by creating a suitable platform for their operations.
