The Five Key Areas of Peter's Admonition

The word admonition is used to instruct the Christian believers in the Bible (Smith, 2000). In the subject of Peter's admonition, discussed in the Bible, Peter tell his readers to confidence themselves for the time of persecution. According to this theory, Christ is assumed to have achieved the victory over the sins of men and the ultimate powers over the cosmos, through his death and resurrection. In addition, baptism is the only way, through which the Christian believers receive the salvation, which was made possible by the Jesus Christ. Baptism is the connection with the life of Jesus Christ, his death and resurrection.

This is to ensure that the believers move away from the former passions of gentile life and start living by the will of God (Blazen, 1983). In Peter's admonition, Peter is drawing the conclusion to the events and Christian messages, which have already happened. This message starts from the topic of Christ's death in the flesh. Peter repeatedly used the term of death, to connect the death of Jesus Christ and the concept of suffering together, for the readers. By talking about death, he meant to describe Christ's death and connect it to the suffering of Christians. Through his admonition, Peter gave this hope being born again to the true followers of Christianity.

Through this admonition, Peter meant that believers should not live their life in sins and ignorance because they know that acceding to Bible, they will be born again. But instead, they should make their lives, even more up to the standard of Christianity, so that they really deserve to get a chance to live their second life.
