Introduction

This essay has focused on the pre-history of warfare considering the viewpoints of Steven Leblanc regarding prehistoric period of warfare. Three issues will mainly be focused in these essays which have been highlighted by Steven Leblanc.

Discussion

The initiation or the origination of war has been lost in the past. Only the assumptions can be made regarding the evolution of war, nevertheless by taking into consideration the activities or behavior of some advanced societies that have been survived into historic times and through in depth analysis of the archaeological record. In order to investigate the origin of the armed conflicts in the past, within prehistoric societies, is an arduous and thorny, as the usual precarious archaeological evidence that also needs to add the difficulty of differentiating between episodes of individual violence, more or less evident in the fossils of the archaeological record of the first acts that qualify as acts of war.

According to Steven Leblanc, the availability of resources was the main cause of the evolution of war in the ancient times which is quite consolidated statement, because the beginning of war can be caused of several factors. Because of which a significant issue in the concept of war has been originated. Furthermore, the origination of the warfare in that time period also dependent on cultural character, i.e., that arises as a social phenomenon in a historical moment as a result of economic, social and cultural importance, or otherwise, as advocated by some authors, the war is suppressed in biological background, and a first expression of that biology formulate warrior in the hunt.
