CHAPTER 1: INTRODUCTION

The study at hand discusses the article regarding the philosophers and the description of the article The Singer Solution to World Poverty by Peter Singer. This article proposes a plan that could rejuvenate the story of Robin Hood.

Background

The philosophers and writers have formed the history of times in an extensive manner. In the article “The Singer Solution to World Poverty”, the plan proposed by the Peter Singer could regenerate the Robin Hood's story. His plan closely resembles the stealing of wealth from rich and redistributing it to the poor. Poverty and disease has a global problem which is accredited by all the people around the world (Cowling & Maurice, Pp. 99). Taking all of our money being spent on luxury items and donating those to overseas organizations would certainly curb the spread of poverty and disease, but at a steep price to our lifestyles. The question of whether or not to agree with Singer must be answered by a pragmatic cost-benefit analysis along with a philosophical and moral debate.
