Abstract

The research is based on the stakeholder analysis in order to evaluate the model for hospital care as the hospital needs to hire the new physicians. The research also assesses the needs and responsibilities of each stakeholder. Strategies have been developed for effective support and communication to implement the model of hospitalist program. Recommendations have been proposed to monitor, evaluate, and reduce the affects of obstacles.

The Stakeholder Analysis

Introduction

In order to implement the hospital model efficiently the stakeholder analysis is essential to evaluate the role, responsibility and stake of each of these stakeholders and assess the issues to cater them effectively through strategies. The strategies may provide support for the stakeholders in processes, functions, communications and management of the hospital.

The Key Stakeholders

The main stakeholder involved in the hospital model include the following

The Patients

Patients are the key stakeholders and all other stakeholders need to fulfill their needs directly or indirectly

The Medical Staff

The staffs assist the clinical professionals, specialists, and doctors.

Clinical Professionals

These are the specialists, doctors, and physical therapists.

Hospitalists

The medical staffs consist of these legitimate members, who are not hired on contract basis. They assist clinical professionals and physicians.

Administration

The administration staffs include members that operate the financial and management support.

The stakeholders comprises of the following interests, needs, and responsibilities in the hospital model.

The Patients

The hospitalist program consists of the major stakeholder, the patients. All healthcare systems have a major objective to serve patients. These stakeholders expect the care, treatment and other services from the hospital staff that include physicians, hospitalist, nurses, and administration. All the clinical staff, administration and hospitalists needs to develop effective communication along with the patients along with care and treatment when they are admitted to the hospital. The staff should make sure to satisfy the patients especially admitted to the emergency department.

Medical Staff

The medical staffs serve significant services for the patients, clinical professionals, and administrations. The model for hospitalist program comprises of the following services by the medical staff.

They may ensure effective communication amongst all the stakeholders

They manage the patients' treatment; the office based practices, and decides inpatient care for the patients should be cost effective

Provides support for the specialist and surgeons who seeks assistance for handling and managing the patients' routine care

The medical staffs work together with the hospitalists and physicians to admit and treat the patients.

The medical staff can be helpful in designing, implementing, reviewing and monitoring the model of hospital care.

The hospitalist model program determines how the medical staffs perceive the hospitalists.
