In almost every town of the United Kingdom, the folk music scene is a vibrant and large music genre wills traditional music and folk clubs. An important role in the traditional or folk music scene is played by the folk music festivals. In comparison to the average folk music club, a chance is given to the artists by the folk music festivals to showcase their talents and perform in front of a much larger audience (Woodside & Martin, 2008, pp. 198). The case study has highlighted the Beverly Folk Festival, it is a key case as it one of the largest folk festival in the United Kingdom. It is held around and in Beverly, East Riding of Yorkshire, England and is a three day celebration of spoken word and comedy, workshops and music.

Offering a range of the late night Beverley Arts Trust tent, the Teenage Cancer Trust tent showcasing the best of regional and local musicians, Area 2 youth performances and workshops, children's activities, cafes and craft stalls, the festival is an outdoor marquee area. The twenty fifth anniversary of the festival was celebrated in the year of 2008 (Tacey & Davies, 2005, pp. 458). Due to its fascinating history, the ancient town, ale, the diverse craft stalls, the relaxed and friendly atmosphere, all the different workshops, the opportunities available to young upcoming artists, people continue to come to Beverley Folk Festival as they love the line up. Even with small festivals suffering due to economic climate, Beverley is celebrating its 30th anniversary in the year of 2013. It takes place in the East Yorkshire Wolds, in the heart of Real Ale country.
