Transnational Railways

Introduction

Transnational Railways is a transportation company operating in the United States and Canada. The company deals with the railroad system across these two countries. The company has a huge railroad network which is a multi domain forest. This multi domain forest is operating in four regions namely: the Northern region, the Western region, the Southern region, and the Eastern region. The whole geographical network is implemented with some enhanced processes. The structuring and processes are explained in this report.

Active Directory

Active Directory is a product of Microsoft which facilitates with the directory management service. It is a tough task to keep a track on large networks and this tool caters this area. The systems that use the Active Directory are referred to as the domain controllers. It helps in finding network resources. Its structure is related to a phonebook. It uses the domain name system (Allen & Lowie-Norris, 2003).

Supervisory Conductors

It is a term used to refer the conductors responsible for supervision. In Transnational Railways, these supervisory conductors are stationed at multiple geographic regions. Two of the SCs are placed in the forest domain whereas, the rest of the SCs are located in the rest four regions. The plan will support the supervisory conductors to gain support with the transport control module and the other resources.

Plan for the Supervisory Conductors

The plan is aimed to serve the supervisory conductors with a program or process that provides them with an access to the transport control module and the other elements in the HQ domain. A fact to be considered is that the supervisory conductors must not get access to the other resources present in the rest of the domains. Here, the purpose is to implement a system with limited access to all supervisory conductors. The system that will be implemented in Transnational Railways will be integrated with all other domains and transport control modules. The system will contain a feature of limited access assigned to these supervisory conductors to work on areas of their concern, rather than serving as a public domain.

For the purpose to propose a plan the strategies used will be RBAC - Role Based Access Controls and AGDLP. This will provide a multi domain environment and will reduce the cost and add more effectiveness.

Microsoft AGDLP - the beneficial perspective

AGDLP is another concept by Microsoft which is the abbreviation for “account, global, domain local, and permission”. A feature that this concept will cater is the practice of using readily assigned permissions for the network resources. The concept will also positively utilize the permissions and memberships in a way that they are easy to be configured for access from multi domains. The AGDLP concept helps to fit a lot of groups under your token. It provides with a reasonable token size which supports in dealing too many groups together.

AGDLP is based on role based functionality for assigning permissions. These things are operated at the role level therefore, the admin does not require ...
