Introduction

An efficient control of temperature is indispensable to achieve a satisfying internal environment in offices, homes and different facilitating centres of public like hotels, hospitals, shopping centres and sports centres (Wang et.al, 2013). The main issue is to attain the desirable indoor temperature at the same time as reducing consumption of energy and counter ecological issues. Ventilation system is the most important part in building construction. It is basically the air passage way from where fresh air enters in to the building structure. The government of UK utilize some standards in designing building structure. There is no denying the fact that a good and efficient ventilation system is necessary for every building (Wang et.al, 2013). A ventilation system ensures that an adequate amount of outside air is allowed to enter inside the building, for treating the extracting air space.

This helps in the reduction and dilution of the contamination inside the building. The ventilation system in the building electronically regulates the heating and cooling of air, in order to obtain optimum thermal comfort level in the rooms. To understand its operation, it is essential to review the basics of heating and cooling in a building (Wang et.al, 2013). Ventilation system is an essential component of all the buildings. The exchange takes place by conduction, when contacting the air with ventilation ducts. It is necessary to maintain the temperature of the building.

There are different ventilation systems are available that can be use to militia the temperature of building environment (Liu et.al, 2013). Natural ventilation meets one primary goal when integrated with bioclimatic concepts, reducing the need to use air conditioning, thus reducing the consumption of energy required to power plants, particularly in hot climates. Indeed, the natural ventilation improves cooling of a building overnight (Wang et.al, 2013). Once the sources of pollution have been reduced and air, hot and exhausted, has been evacuated from the building, cooling improves nighttimes breathing comfort, smell and heat of the occupants (Imperial et.al, 2013). The cooling takes place nightly while the occupants are away. This is why only an automated system programmed by timer can ensure that the windows open and close with maximum efficiency for the aeration of the building.

Background of Building Ventilation System

Ventilation is the process of changing or replacing air in any space, with the objective of controlling the temperature, to renew the oxygen and remove moisture, odours, smoke, heat, dust, bacteria from the air and carbon dioxide. Ventilation includes both the exchange with the outside air as the air circulation inside the building. It is one of the most important factors to maintain acceptable indoor air quality in buildings (Wang et.al, 2013).
